Grants and Funding
Is your organisation eligible to apply for funding?
If you are a not-for-profit incorporated community group or organisation and you have an eligible project then there is money out there for you to apply for. There are many funding bodies out there offering funds for different projects and programs and they all have different application processes and guidelines that can be very overwhelming. I am able to work with your organisation to develop a program that meets particular guidelines or find funding for a project that your organisation already has in mind. I’m not saying there is funding for every project out there but it’s worth having a good look to see if there is something that can benefit your organisation and community.
Bigger funding programs for larger scale projects will require your organisation to develop a Business Case. A Business Case ensures that you have adequetly planned for your project and includes information on the project background, clearly outlines the strategies and objectives, a project budget, how the project will be managed, risks and other important project information.
Funding bodies need to ensure that you have adequetly planned for your project before they will commit funds.
Some funding bodies will even give you funding to be able to hire consultants like myself to develop these business cases documents.
I have extensive experience in the development of Business Cases and have also been involved in the development of documents for various government agencies that provide local governments and other agencies with a business case framework, basically a how to guide to completing project specific business cases.
I would love to work with you and your business or organisation in the development of a business case. Please contact me if you have a project in mind and would like a quote.
There are several organisations and websites that can give you a great deal of information on where you can find funding. Several of the sites that I recommend that you take a look at are:
There are also several sites where you can subsctibe to mailing lists to keep in touch with funding applications that are available each month. I have recomended ourcommunity webpage for you to have a look. If you are a not for profit community group, the subscription is quite cheap, but go and have a look at the benefits you get and weigh up whether this is something that meets the needs of you group.
Alternatively, look for industry specific newletters and enews publications that you can subscribe for at no charge. For example, if you are a sporting group, I would subscribe to the Department of Sport and Recreation electronic newsletter as they have all their current funding programs listed. There are so many funding areas that I am not going to go into specifics here.
Some funding applications are straight forward and easy to complete, but you will find the bigger the project, the more detailed and indepth the application is required to be.
I am able to assist your organisation with the completion of relevant application forms if your group is having difficulty or find the whole process daunting.
I have been completing application forms for over 12 years. I have also completed many grant writing courses and workshops that have assisted my grant writing skills over the years.
My grant writing experience has covered projects appllying for $500 through of regional Councils applying for project funds of over $1 Million.
